Go-Joe and his two friends Jarno and Lauren are playing on their hobby horses. When Sarah-Jane arrives it gives her an idea: she takes them learn to ride real horses! At the stables they get kitted out in boots and a hat and join a lesson with some other children. Go-Joe meets the ponies and finds out about their colours. The children learn how to hold the reins and even get to have a go at trotting!
